Amy’s choice

I am almost too angry to write.  24 hours is what one should take before responding.  I am now more then 24 hours into it but I am still so mad I could spit nails.

Last night there was an article in the News-Gazette which explained how a group of physicians came together to decide WHO would receive health care should a crisis arise.  Lindsay Tanner wrote the article here

So Amy’s choice in the event of a health crisis is that she lives, Andy lives, Chase lives and Larkin gets to die.

Sit on that one for a while.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE how they list the mentally impaired as Alzheimer’s patients.    Let’s just start that list with what they are afraid to say.  Down syndrome.  Fragile X.  Seizures.  Metabolic disorders and the list goes on and on.  They want to tell me that one of my children isn’t worth saving.

Excuse me while I go find the newest mapping of the United States of Nazi Germany.   Wonder if it’s on Google maps yet or if the group of doctors who wrote this report are still writing their Manifesto.

(((sigh))) Krappy Krap. Let those docs come over to my house and we’ll just see…

Holy hell sometimes I hate people so much it hurts to breathe. I understand that triage is important, but that’s bullshit. This is about placing value on people’s lives and it’s about time people starting stepping up and saying the medical community has gone too far.

    Unbelievable.
Please post your response here, I would LOVE to read this.

It sucks and I don’t get it. When my son was going in at 2 years old for open heart surgery they told me that in case of a shortage of vaccines, he would be on a list of children to be given the vaccine first due to his congenital “defect”. Even this felt odd to me. How do they get to choose who’s life is more important? It is all too crazy for words and makes me very, very sad.
